This training has been completely revamped and will be launched in 2026 as a modern e-learning course. This online program offers you the opportunity to learn, at your own pace and at a flexible time, using professional observation techniques used in both private and public investigative practices.

In this approximately 14-hour self-study course, you'll learn step-by-step how to effectively prepare, conduct, and record observations. The e-learning combines theoretical knowledge, practical video lessons, and interactive assignments developed by experienced observation specialists.
You'll learn how to observe discreetly in a variety of situations—from urban to rural areas—and how to professionally analyze and report signals, behaviors, and patterns.

During this training, you will learn the latest strategies and techniques for dynamic and static surveillance in both urban and woodland areas. Tactical surveillance is among the most complex methods of intelligence gathering.

The training is divided into three modules:

Module 1: Dynamic and Static Observation

In this module, you'll learn all about tracking a person by vehicle, on foot, or by public transport. Planning, preparing, and establishing a static observation post are also covered.

Module 2: Preparing Dynamic Observations and ABC Procedures

In this module, we emphasize the importance of discretion during observations to avoid attracting attention. You'll learn the do's and don'ts of conducting observations. You'll also practice ABC procedures for dynamically monitoring subjects.

    Module 3: Recording

In this module, our instructors will teach you how to capture activities or events in photos, videos, or audio recordings.

Upon registration, you will receive the official Observation Techniques manual (ISBN 9789464375060), which we developed in-house and will send to you by mail. This manual is a valuable addition to the online learning environment.
