About the program
Reading body language the way the brain processes it
The accredited three-day Registered Body Language Analyst® foundation program provides a thorough basis for reading, understanding and correctly interpreting body language. You gain insight into your own non-verbal behavior and learn to observe and interpret signals in others with precision.
Deliberate observation and the link with ORBIT
You learn how the brain processes non-verbal signals and why we so often interpret too quickly. The program teaches you to slow down, to look without judging immediately and to separate what you actually observe from what you infer. We also make the link with the ORBIT method (Observing Rapport Based Interviewing Techniques), a scientifically grounded methodology for building and maintaining ‘rapport’ in conversations. This lets you use objective observations to steer the interaction without losing the connection with the person you are speaking to.
Analyzing behavior and non-verbal signals
Step by step you develop a sharp eye for subtle movements, facial expressions and gestures. You learn to recognize the building blocks of body language, from posture and facial expression to hand and foot movements, and discover what these can reveal about intention, emotion and underlying tension. Using video footage and case studies you train yourself to recognize and correctly interpret the signals you observe.
The program has a strongly practice-oriented character. During the two consecutive classroom days you combine theory with intensive exercise, supported by realistic cases and video training. The flexible third phase takes about one class day on average: you analyze practice cases, describe your observations and link your findings to concrete behavioral indicators. You complete the assessment at a moment that suits you; the personal online conversation with the instructor usually follows within 14 days of the class days. By taking part in this program you develop not only analytical precision but also greater self-awareness in your own communication. You learn to read body language as a dynamic component of human behavior, a skill that is directly applicable in a wide range of professional contexts.

Who is this program developed for?
This accredited Registered Body Language Analyst foundation program is specifically designed as a basis for anyone new to the domain of non-verbal communication. It is aimed at professionals who gather (background) information or intelligence through conversations, interrogations or interviews: staff of investigative services, customer due diligence researchers, fraud investigators and loss adjusters, as well as social workers, coaches, healthcare professionals, lawyers, staff of safety regions and defense personnel.
In professional settings this knowledge is particularly valuable: think of situations where subtle non-verbal signals can provide crucial information, during interviews, client conversations, negotiations or observations.

The program is strongly practice-oriented, with realistic cases and video training. In the flexible third phase you apply what you have learned independently and show that you can observe, analyze and interpret the building blocks of body language carefully.

While this program is usually offered as an open program, we understand that you may need a private setting given the nature of your work. With at least twelve participants, we can provide a private training session at our location. We also offer tailored programs based on parts of this program. We are happy to put together a suitable proposal.
