Interrogation, Interview Techniques and Body Language

    Registration

In the world of investigation, information gathering, and risk management, conversation and interview skills are crucial. The main goal of a good conversation or interview is to obtain in-depth (background) information or intelligence, which plays a fundamental role in truth-finding, risk assessment, and informed decision-making.

What do we mean by an interview?

In this course, the term " interview" used broadly as an umbrella term. A clear distinction is made between informative interviews and confrontational interviews (interrogations), with attention to the purpose, approach, and context of each type of interview.

    What do you learn?

Our training in interrogation, interviewing techniques, and body language is designed to equip professionals with practical and effective techniques for conducting conversations and interviews. During this intensive training, participants are introduced to a range of scientifically proven methodologies. The program is characterized by an integrated approach, combining interview techniques with statement analysis, paralinguistics, and body language interpretation.

The program consists of two days of classroom instruction and approximately eight hours of e-learning. The classroom training is the core of the program. The e-learning is used for support, review, and deepening.

    Content of the training

The program consists of a coherent set of topics, covered partly in the classroom and partly through e-learning. The choice of learning format depends on the nature of the topic: skills and interactive components are taught in the classroom, while theory and in-depth study are primarily covered through e-learning. Some themes recur in both learning formats, but with a different emphasis.

    Result

The combination of intensive classroom skills training and in-depth e-learning creates a cohesive learning path. Participants develop a keen awareness of their own conversational style, learn to better interpret (non-)verbal and paralinguistic cues, and are able to conduct both physical and digital interviews professionally and effectively.

This training therefore lays a solid foundation for effective hearing and interrogation in a wide range of professional situations.

Within this structure the following topics are covered:

Part 1: Constructing and conducting targeted conversations and interviews

Part 2: Making contact and the first conversation

Part 3: Dealing with emotions, resistance and tensions

Part 4: Observing and interpreting verbal and non-verbal behavior

Part 5: Image formation and perception

Part 6: Structuring interviews, including encircling and funneling

Part 7: Dealing with difficult or confrontational conversation situations

Part 8: Interview preparation, including legal and cultural aspects

Part 9: Communication Processes and Common Obstacles

Part 10: Body Language and Contextual Interpretation

Part 11: Statement analysis and signals of incongruence or possible deception

Part 12: PEACE and ORBIT interview methods

    Part 13: Cognitive Questioning Techniques

Part 14: Digital (telephone) conversations and paralinguistics

Part 15: Developing and developing structured interview plans
