    International Anti Crime Academy BV (hereinafter: “IACA” or “we”) is a private company that focuses on vocational training in the field of (digital) investigation & security. This privacy policy describes how IACA, as a data controller, collects, uses and processes personal data of individuals who visit our website and use our services, as well as personal data collected from business partners, survey responses or competition entries.  

    Scope and processing of personal data

    By “websites” we mean anti-crime-academy.com and other websites operated by IACA that link to this privacy policy. In order to provide you with services, we need to process personal data. In some cases, we may share your personal information with third parties to assist us in providing our services. If you are unwilling to provide your personal information and have it shared with third parties as described in this privacy policy, you may not be able to use our services.  

    Basis for processing

    In most cases, we process your data based on your consent or because this is necessary to fulfill our contractual obligations to you. Although consent is not mandatory, if you do not allow us to process your personal data, it may limit your access to certain services.

    When you register for a course or contact us, you will be asked to provide personal data. We also collect data about how you interact with our services. In addition, we may obtain information about you from our business partners or other third parties.

    Automatic data collection

    We may receive and collect certain data automatically through website analytics, information from your internet browser when you visit our websites and the use of cookies. This may include personal information that identifies you, such as your name and email address, as well as other non-identifying information.  

    Information provided by you 

    The personal data we process about you is; your name, gender, date of birth, place of birth, address details, IP address, e-mail address, telephone number(s), address, company, department, position, industry, organizational memberships, geographical region and other personal data that you actively provide, for example in correspondence and by telephone . We also process and store data related to training assignments, including assessment scores, registration for webcasts and events, and your use of content provided on our websites.  

    When you use our websites

    We use various technologies to collect information from your computer or device and track your activities on our websites. The following types of information are collected automatically: this includes your IP address, browser type and language, access times, the contents of cookies that your browser has accepted and not deleted, referring or exit website addresses, internet service provider, date/time, operating system, language and location preferences, and system configuration information.

    In cases where your employer sponsors your training and shares your personal data with us, IACA acts as a data controller alongside your employer. We work with your employer to handle data rights requests. Your data and training results will be shared with your employer and we will process the information in accordance with this privacy policy.

    We use the personal data collected about you for various purposes. The legal basis for processing personal data depends on the context in which it is collected.  

    The information collected about you is used as follows: 

    • Delivery of the requested services 
    • Manage your account and provide customer support   
    • Conduct research and analysis to understand your usage patterns and interests in our services, content and products, as well as offerings from other parties

    Authorized service providers: 

    We engage third party service providers to perform various functions, such as order fulfillment, payment processing, delivery of materials, telephone service, customer service, marketing, business and sales support, and website support. IACA does not sell your personal data commercially to third parties . In addition, we also share personal data with external parties such as examination institutes and certification bodies, who need this data to enable and validate participation in exams and certification processes. These third parties are also bound by strict confidentiality obligations and may not use the information for other purposes.

    Co-organizers: 

    Certain IACA training courses are co-organized by external organizations. When you register for an event, the co-hosting organization may access your registration information with your express consent.   

    Business Partners: 

    With your consent, when you make purchases or participate in promotions offered through our websites, we may share personal information with the companies we partner with to provide you with these services.  

    Business transfers: 

    In the event of an actual or proposed merger, sale, transfer of assets, acquisition, financing, restructuring, bankruptcy or similar event affecting all or a portion of our business, we may disclose and/or transfer personal information as part of such a transaction.
