    Forensics Fundamentals: Traces and Scenarios

    Enrollment

Step into the world of forensic investigation and discover how traces are the key to unraveling a crime. In this interactive masterclass, you will learn that every contact leaves a trace – from a hair or fiber to a fingerprint or even a unique scent.

During this masterclass, you'll learn which evidence is valuable and what it can reveal about the course of a crime. A wide variety of evidence will be covered:

    • Hair and fibers that provide insight into a person's recent whereabouts.
    • Shoeprints and ear prints that could play an unexpected role in the investigation.
    • Human scent trails that each person leaves behind uniquely.
    • DNA and the role of databases: how does it work, when is it used, and what do the results mean?
    • Fingerprints (dactyloscopy) with their associated myths, facts and databases.

This masterclass doesn't offer dry theory, but an accessible and inspiring introduction to forensic techniques. You'll learn how evidence truly gains meaning when placed within the bigger picture: the scenario. With an introduction to scenario thinking, you'll discover how different clues together form a story – and how forensic insights contribute to truth-finding.
