    Retraining and training programs

Are you currently (still) employed but are you considering working in the sector of (digital) investigation, public order, international security or tactical research? In that case, we would be happy to draw up a personal training plan in consultation with you. We currently do this for employees of, among others:

    List Icon

    The Royal Netherlands Army

    List Icon

    The Royal Military Police

    List Icon

    Police & Judicial Institutions

    List Icon

    The Dutch Offshore sector

    List Icon

    International government services

    List Icon

    Financial organizations

There may be several reasons why you are considering retraining or further training. Some examples of this could be:

    List Icon

Your current position is being terminated because you have reached a certain age.

    List Icon

Your current position is being eliminated.

    List Icon

You want to gain additional knowledge for a future position within your current organization.

    List Icon

Your current position turns out not to be what you want to do for the rest of your life.

    List Icon

Your current (or future) position requires additional or specialized knowledge.

Drawing up a personal training plan is of course completely without obligation and consists of the following steps:

    Phase 1

First we look together at the reason for your additional or retraining. For example, if your current position is going to disappear, we need to look at your personal interests and your current income. If you are looking for additional knowledge for a possible job change within your organization, we will look together at what knowledge is required for that job.

    Phase 2

Once we have clarified the reason for your additional or retraining, we will look together at the various options we can offer you. Of course, you must have a good idea of the different fields. We inform you extensively about the entire sector and provide you with detailed information about the sub-areas: investigation, security, research or public order.

    Phase 3

Once you have chosen a particular field, we will inform you further about the latest developments in that field. We assume that you want to follow an education or training for which there is sufficient demand.

    Phase 4

After we have given you all the information you require, we will draw up your personal training plan together. This plan contains all the information that you must provide to your career counselor or employer for approval. Your career counselor or employer can of course always contact our training coordinator directly.

The total lead time for putting together a personal training plan is 4 working days in almost all cases.

Basic diploma or specific additional training?

A basic diploma is required for almost all professions in the Dutch investigation sector. For example, a private investigator must have the recognized ECABO Private Investigator diploma and a Special Investigation Officer must have the Basic BOA diploma. Naturally, our Academy offers all essential basic training in the sector. We first determine with you which basic diplomas are required, depending on your interests and your chosen field. We will then investigate what additional education and training you may need.

Below are some examples of our successful personal training plans:

    Example 1

For example, if you want to become a Private Digital Detective, you must not only have the basic Private Investigator diploma, but of course also have professional training in the field of conducting digital investigations. However, if you want to work as a digital investigator within the (semi) government, you must in almost all cases also have the recognized basic diploma for Special Investigation Officer. Together with you, we determine which courses or training are suitable for you.

    Example 2

A personal security guard in the Netherlands must have the Security Guard Level 2 diploma supplemented with the Personal Security certificate. However, if you want to perform security work on a sea-going vessel or in a so-called high-risk area, you must have additional international diplomas and documents. Together with you, we determine which courses or training are necessary in that case.

    Example 3

You aspire to a position within a private observation team or as a forensic financial investigator. In those cases, the basic Private Investigator diploma must be supplemented with very specific training. Naturally, we provide such training for you. If you would like to perform these activities as a special investigating officer, the basic BOA diploma must be supplemented with specific training at a higher level.

    MBO or HBO courses

We offer training programs at both MBO and HBO level, depending on your chosen field.

A training program within your budget

Your employer will often cover part of the training costs. In certain situations, such as at the Ministry of Defense, there is a specific budget reserved that you have built up over the years. If your position becomes redundant, a budget is usually made available for further training or retraining. In any case, regardless of your budget, we will draw up a personal training plan with you and investigate which field offers the most opportunities for you.
