In this 3-day training you will be taught the latest strategies and techniques in the field of dynamic and static observations in both urban and woodland areas. Tactical observation is one of the most complex methods when it comes to information gathering. In a society that is becoming increasingly vigilant, a professional observation can only be carried out by a specialist in this field.
During this course, theory and practice alternate in a pleasant manner.
The training is divided into three modules:
Module 1: Dynamic and Static Observation
In this module you will learn everything about following a person by vehicle, on foot or by public transport. Planning, preparing and occupying a static observation post is also discussed.
Module 2: Preparation for Dynamic Observations and ABC Procedures
In this module we emphasize the importance of discretion during an observation so as not to attract attention. You will learn the 'do's and don'ts' while conducting an observation. You will also practice ABC procedures to dynamically monitor subjects.
Module 3: Recording
In this module, our teachers will teach you how to record activities or events in photo or video, or in the form of an audio recording.
During the training, use is made of the textbook 'Observation Technique' (ISBN 9789464375060), which was developed and published in-house by IACA.
Overview of Observation Technology components:
Part 1: General observation
Part 2: Radio procedure
Part 3: Materials
Part 4: Static observation
Part 5: Observation on foot
Part 6: Mobile observation
Part 7: National observations
Part 8: Recording / reporting

Great training!
Education: Observation technique
Review: “It was another great three days. Theory: Learned a lot and once again went home with some more experience in my backpack. The theory is doable. There was clear course material and the lesson and learning material are interspersed with videos and practical examples. The teacher's practical experiences well substantiate the objectives of this training. There was plenty of room to discuss your own input and to complete preparation assignments for the exam with your group. Practice: Partly due to the teacher's enthusiasm, she managed to captivate the small group of three people and we were allowed to go home with the certificate. I experienced the live performance of Observation Technique in practice as special. Applying what you have learned in the real world in a very relatively short time is equally strange. Good and trusted guidance will help you get over it and quickly get you into your role. The teacher has a good sense of what is going on in the student and what phase you are in. This gave me a good feeling and we were able to gain practical experience in a safe environment. The final practical exam with an external actress was a great experience. Facilities: Once again everything was well organised. Material to support the lessons was available, lunch was plentiful and a cup of coffee on time was good. IACA, thank you on behalf of an enthusiastic student.”
