The name OSINT Module 1 stems from the modular OSINT learning path that the International Anti Crime Academy developed in 2016. That learning path was the first accredited OSINT registered program in the Netherlands and Belgium. The modules build on one another and together lead to an official registered diploma. Within that learning path, OSINT Module 1 is the foundation on which the follow-up modules build. Over the years, similar program names have also been used by other providers. To make clear which specific IACA program is meant, every module has therefore been given its own program code. IOSI101 refers specifically to OSINT Module 1 at the International Anti Crime Academy. The full IACA learning path consists of: IOSI101 – OSINT Module 1 → IOSI102 – OSINT Module 2 → IOSI103 – OSINT Module 3 → IOSI104 – OSINT Module 4 Each module comprises three class days and builds on the module before it. The OSINT methodology developed by IACA runs as a common thread through the entire learning path. ### Is IACA's OSINT Module 1 the same as an OSINT Module 1 at another provider? No. OSINT Module 1 is not a standardized program name. Another provider may also call a course OSINT Module 1, but that does not mean it is the same program. The content, duration, investigative methods, practical assignments, tools used, level and connection to follow-up programs differ. IOSI101 is the specific three-day OSINT Module 1 of the International Anti Crime Academy and forms the first part of the accredited IACA registered programs in the field of Open Source Intelligence. A program taken elsewhere under the same or a similar name is therefore not the same program as IOSI101. ### What is the IACA OSINT methodology? The IACA OSINT methodology is the approach developed by the International Anti Crime Academy for the structured collection, recording, analysis and interpretation of information from public sources. The methodology is taught from IOSI101: OSINT Module 1 onward and then runs as a common thread through IOSI102, IOSI103 and IOSI104. In each follow-up module the methodology is applied further and deepened with additional sources, techniques and methods of analysis. Participants therefore learn not only to use individual OSINT tools and search techniques, but above all how to set up and carry out a digital investigation systematically, purposefully and in a structured way. The methodology is combined with IACA's own procedures and a specially developed OSINT toolset. This is what makes the modules connect to one another and creates a single continuous way of working. ### Can I skip OSINT Module 1 if I have already taken an OSINT program elsewhere? No. Within the IACA OSINT learning path, IOSI101: OSINT Module 1 must be completed successfully before you can take part in IOSI102: OSINT Module 2. OSINT training taken elsewhere may provide background knowledge, but it does not replace IOSI101. The follow-up modules build on the specific IACA OSINT methodology, procedures and way of working that are taught from IOSI101 onward and deepened in every module that follows. The OSINT modules are moreover part of several accredited SPEN and Post-HBO registered programs. Within those registered programs no exemptions are possible: to qualify for the diploma, all prescribed program components and program hours must be attended.
